Having Meal at Right Time helps in Healthy Weight Loss?

The conventional weight loss experts always vouch that the key to weight loss is to achieve negative energy balance. Which means one’s energy intake should be less than what the body spends, so that the fats and stored lipids can be broken down. These experts never take in to account the BMR and prescribe dieting and very low calorie food to achieve weight Loss. We already broke that myth about weight loss.

Like mentioned before, for healthy weight loss one should focus to increase his BMR (Basal metabolic rate) and not starve. Starving will only decrease the metabolism further which is neither healthy and nor a permanent fix to obesity. So, one should eat well and eat healthy food. While we have established this, we should also know what the right time to have food is.

Many experts say that the right time to have food is whenever we feel hungry. There is a problem in this logic, as a few people never feel hungry and some other will always feel hungry and have a craving for food.

The best time to have a nourishing food is the morning. The very term breakfast means “breaking the fast”. We nearly don’t eat a thing for around 10 to 12 hours, so breaking that fast is very important. Skipping breakfast can seriously bring down the metabolic rate. While we are asleep our body has had no nutritional supply. This makes all our cells receptive and ready to absorb the essential nutrients. Especially the food we eat in the morning should be rich in protein. As protein unlike other nutrients like carbohydrates, fats and minerals are never stored in the body and the body needs regular supply of it. The circulating protein would have been used up in repairing the muscle cells and in the growth of hair, nail and skin. Protein is also spent on other bodily activities, so our body will readily absorb the proteins. Extra energy will be spent on replenishing the body with protein. This will directly increase the BMR (Basal metabolic rate) and in return help in weight loss.

Though we cannot fix up a time to have breakfast as many people wake up at different time, it is always good to have a couple of glasses of water in the morning and after an hour or two one can have the breakfast.

The second best time to eat is after some good physical activity.

While one should not eat immediately after a workout. It is good to make it a habit of eating after 30 minutes after a strenuous work out. If you practice yoga, then make sure your bowels are clean before doing it (It is good to have this habit even while working out) and eat after 30 minutes. As this is the time when energy producing hormones are active and energy-storing hormones are suppressed. So, the chances of energy being stored as fat are far less during this time, and this is also the time when the body needs proteins to replenish the cells, for muscle growth and to repair the cells. So this meal will almost be entirely used up for the body functions.

While these two meals are important, it is also important to eat more often a day (around 5 times a day of light meal). This will keep your hunger in check, prevent the spikes in sugar levels and also increase the Basal Metabolic Rate.

If just losing your weight is all that you want, then you can go ahead with strict carb free diet

But, if you wish to Decrease the Body Fat Permanently and with out regaining it again, then it is important to increase your BMR, so the problem is dieting actually slows down your BMR and this is not all the body will start to burn up the muscle resulting in lesser lean body mass.

Tom Venuto states in his New Book, “Burn the Fat and Feed the Muscle” gives a permanent fix for this problem!
