Know about Body Types: (Ectomorph, Endomorph or Mesomorph)
While weight loss and looking slim and sexy has been in vogue for a long time, it is important to understand what you are. Almost everyone can be fit and healthy with proper food, physical activity and lifestyle, but one need to understand what their natural body type is. This will help people to stay healthy and not crave for the perfect shape. There are three basic body types,

1. Ectomorphic (Ectomorph): characterized by long and thin muscles/limbs and low fat storage; receding chin, usually referred to as slim.
2. Mesomorphic (Mesomorph): characterized by medium bones, solid torso, low fat levels, and wide shoulders with a narrow waist; usually referred to as muscular.
3. Endomorphic: characterized by increased fat storage, a wide waist and a large bone structure usually referred to as fat.
This concept is nothing new, these three body types were mentioned in the ayurvedic texts (5000 years ago).

It is elaborately discussed as the tridosha system. While a strict diet and regular workout can make an endomorph look more like an ectomorph, but the basic bone structure will not change. Ayurveda also categorise these people based on their character, while endomorphs are slow and lazy, mesomorphs are hardworking and active.
It is also proven that endomorphs, when they get in to good physical activity and consume good food can become highly muscular and powerful. They key is, knowing and understanding their body well and practice of proper yoga can improve their mind as well.
