In this 60 minute workout, you’ll increase your heart rate and improve your circulation which aids in weigh loss and burning extra calories, as you flow through a series of classic yoga poses combined with an aerobic vinyasa. Plus by incorporating standing poses and core conditioning moves, you’ll reshape your entire body and experience increased flexibility, stamina and energy. This well-designed program combines fast-paced yoga moves for fat-burning, hatha yoga poses for strength and flexibility, and stability ball exercises for core conditioning in three segments that can be done in one 60-minute session, or separately. Segment 1 builds patterns based on strong yoga poses such as the Warrior and Balancing Stick, adding lifts and lunges at a fast pace so that you’re breathing faster and working the muscles simultaneously. Segment 2 is strength training by holding poses. Segment 3 focuses on core strength with a stability ball. Some familiarity with yoga is helpful–Austin doesn’t give much instruction about breathing or the fine points of the poses–but not required. Although Austin talks nonstop, as always, her voice is quieter than usual and more fitting for this workout. (The repetitive, rhythmic music, however, is distracting rather than supportive.) Recommended for intermediate exercisers because no modifications are shown, and many of the poses are challenging. –Joan Price

Denise Austin-Fat-Blasting Yoga : 21 Days to a Yoga Body This is a great video ! I honestly HATE working out, but I LOVE yoga. I already had a wonderful yoga video, but it was too long of a work out to fit into my schedule. I like the way this one is broken up into 3 short workouts. I like the way Denise keeps her moves simple, but effective. This video is EXCELLENT for your back. You feel pain free and thoroughly stretched after these workouts. Don’t get bogged down in semantics This is Fat-Blasting yoga, it is not traditional yoga. The box clearly states that the poses are performed “in a flowing style to increase the heart rate, boost metabolism and burn calories and fat.” If you’re looking for a DVD to teach you the traditional poses and breathing techniques, this is not the one. If you’re looking to lose some weight and gain some flexibility, this is an excellent choice.My goal when I set out three weeks ago was to lose 50 lbs by next summer, and…

Annoying but Effective I am a fan of Denise’s in spite of her being, well, Denise Austin. You cannot help but love her and her motivating us to continually battle the bulge!
